Case Studies
Peterbilt
Peterbilt electric vehicles are revolutionizing the trucking industry with their eco-friendly performance. We are the industry leaders in alternative powertrain offerings, which include the Model 579EV for short haul and drayage, the Model 520EV for refuse, and the Model 220EV for pickup and delivery. Due to the higher demand for our larger truck cabins, we increased our production of these units. This required us to increase our ASRS storage and retrieval capacity to handle the additional output of larger truck cabins.
Piolax
The Canton plant produces around 10 billion pieces annually, and that number is increasing substantially year over year. Its former distribution facility was over capacity and a new building was needed. Unfortunately, there was not much land available to build a conventional warehouse adjacent to the production plant. Managers at Piolax determined that it could only be done through automation.
Liberty Hardware
To improve operational efficiency and security of specialty items. The new system needed to be scalable to meet current and future growth expectations. The automated AS/RS system at Liberty Hardware improved pick accuracy while reducing the total number of man hours required to pick orders compared to previous manual operation.
Winzer
To find a quicker way to fulfill and ship orders within 24 hours. Winzer also wanted to avoid moving to a larger facility with more employees by increasing cube efficiency and improving picks-per-hour for each operator. The new equipment and control software allows Winzer to keep its growth rate in the double digits while fulfilling their promise to hundreds of franchisees around the country with lower error rates and higher fulfillment rates.
SLS Bearings
Experiencing significant growth and looking to increase their ability to provide immediate dispatch service to their customers, SLS Bearings needed to replace older and smaller AS/RS technology and conventional racking with a modern automated storage and retrieval system. The new system enabled SLS to store more than twice as many products as previously, within a smaller footprint.
