"A high-speed automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS) shuttle, the Shuttle Rack M is useful for dense storage and sorting functions. As a vehicle-type AS/RS, the system automates storage and sorting by group or sequence, so it's especially ideal for the load sequencing of multiple smaller-sized parcels. And, due to its design, the AS/RS shuttle also enables higher density, as it can use more vertical space than traditional selective rack systems. Each level of the system uses one lightweight vehicle, which can travel at more than 656 feet per minute. Due to the use of lighter weight vehicles, the AS/RS shuttle not only allows higher speeds, but decreases energy consumption considerably, resulting in cost savings.
