Women History Month Spotlight: How Stacey Michalski Finds and Hires the Best Talent for Daifuku

March is Women’s History Month, a time to honor the women who have shaped our world with their courage, creativity, and brilliance. At Daifuku America Intralogistics, we are fortunate to have many inspiring women on our team who are making a positive impact every day.

Today, we want to introduce you to one of them: Stacey Michalski, a Talent Acquisition Specialist at Daifuku, the world’s leading provider of material handling systems. In this blog post, you will get to know more about Stacey, her role at Daifuku, and what makes her love her job.

Meet Stacey: A Family-Oriented and Passionate Professional

Stacey is a proud resident of Hobart, Indiana, where she lives with her husband Matt and their three lovely daughters Savannah (14), Sophia (11), and Madison (8). Matt and Stacey have been together for 17 years and married for 14 years. They enjoy spending quality time as a family, going on vacations, and watching movies.

Stacey has always had a passion for helping people and finding the best match for their talents and aspirations. She began her career in Human Resources about 13 and a half years ago and moved to Talent Acquisition about 10 years ago. She joined Daifuku almost 8 months ago and since then, she has had the chance to plan and execute two successful hiring events, work with an awesome team, and learn a lot about a new industry!

Stacey’s Role at Daifuku: Finding and Hiring the Best Talent for the Team

As a Talent Acquisition Specialist at Daifuku, Stacey is responsible for sourcing talent for the Hobart, IN manufacturing shop, where they produce some of the most sophisticated and dependable automated systems in the world. She uses different social platforms to attract both experienced and entry-level candidates who are looking for a fulfilling and challenging career in the material handling industry.

Some of her job duties include:

- Crafting compelling job postings that showcase the benefits and requirements of working at Daifuku

- Finding candidates from various sources, such as LinkedIn, Indeed, ZipRecruiter, and referrals

- Connecting with candidates and building trust with them through phone calls, emails, and texts

- Reviewing resumes and conducting phone interviews to evaluate candidates’ qualifications and suitability for the role

- Arranging candidates for interviews with hiring managers and facilitating the interview process

- Administering assessments to measure candidates’ skills and abilities

- Preparing and delivering offer letters and negotiating salary and benefits

- Collaborating with the plant and hiring managers to keep track of headcount and identify staffing needs

- Producing weekly and bi-weekly recruitment reports as requested by the leadership team

- Establishing and maintaining relationships internally and externally, with colleges, community organizations, trade schools, military/veteran groups, and peer companies, to create a talented and diverse candidate pool

- Planning, organizing, promoting, and hosting hiring events to highlight Daifuku’s culture and opportunities
